The Black Reef opal, part of the AO Heritage Legacy Collection, is one of the most significant stones within the Andreou family’s history. Originating from their private collection, it features a striking black opal crystal kernel center with vivid patterns resembling red fish in an aquatic rock pool, surrounded by deep blue Aquatic and black ironstone earth tones. Renowned as one of the finest opals ever discovered, it captures the beauty and mystery of the ocean’s depths.

This Heritage piece is accompanied by a 90x60 cm original hand-painted artwork rendered in a “feeling realistic style” that brings out the natural artistry of the opal. The complete presentation is housed in a handcrafted Italian-made showcase with two brass etched plates displaying the AO logo, unique reference number, and the name “Black Reef,” corresponding to a certificate of authenticity.
